What areas does the Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation prioritize for grant funding?

The Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation prioritizes the care of vulnerable children and families, and we support nonprofit organizations that meet food, housing, healthcare, safety, and education needs.  To be eligible for a grant, organizations must demonstrate the way in which they further the Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation’s mission.  Additionally, organizations must operate in the communities served by Sunwest Bank OR receive financial services from the bank. Due to limited staffing, we are not able to meet or talk with all potential applicants. Yes, an organization must have 501(c)(3) status to receive a grant from us.


Does the Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation provide support to individuals?

No, the Foundation can only grant funds to non-profit organizations.


How does my organization apply for a grant?

Once you have reviewed all of the grant guidelines and are certain that your organization meets the eligibility criteria, you can begin the online application. Simply visit the Apply section of the website and submit a completed application along with the required documentation outlined in the instructions.


How often can my organization apply for a grant?

An organization may only apply to receive one grant each calendar year. There are no limitations on the number of consecutive years that an organization may submit an application.


How soon after applying can my organization expect to hear back?

Applicants can expect to receive a response acknowledging receipt of the application within approximately 3 business days of our receipt of the application. Grant applications are reviewed quarterly, and we generally send notification within 30 days of the quarter’s end. The grant making process is much more extensive for grant requests that exceed $20,000, and additional documentation and meetings will be required.


How does my organization apply for a grant renewal?

The process for renewing grants is the same as for requesting a new grant. We review and consider grants on an annual basis.  Although your organization may have received funding in the past, each application is considered on an individually and is subject to funds availability.


What is the application deadline?

Applications may be submitted at any time and are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
